This round was an interesting round. Probably one of the most interesting rounds so far in the game, and we have a lot of potential things to watch out for in future rounds.
The tribes competed in a maze challenge where each tribe placed 10 "invisible walls" in a 5 by 5 grid for the opposing tribes to navigate without hitting a wall. This was the first double of the season, and there was a lot that led up to the challenge.
On the Dinah tribe, we saw relationships form quickly, but there was a tight group of three formed with Anna Lynn, Alicia, and Rizo with Sarah being the number 4 and Erin being on the outs. I think Sarah realized where the numbers were at and put in work to make sure she wasn't at the bottom of the totem pole with a higher chance for them to go to tribal. She was successful, but unfortunately lost what probably would have been her best ally in the game, Erin.
Erin was basically a goner from the beginning of this round. I was actually disappointed in Dinah this round. This was a challenge that they could have easily practiced and strategized with, and they didn't. They probably came up with the worst maze possible, and didn't bother even testing it out. Hellen Keller could have made it through that maze, seriously. Hugo made it out on the first try with their maze. It was that easy. I knew the moment this tribe submitted their maze that they'd be going to tribal council. It's unfortunate, because I think we were all rooting for Dinah to do well. I'm devastated to see Erin go, and go out on a blindside as well. I think she should have expected it, but I think Sarah could have told her at least. I get it, but it sucks. It's a tough spot to be in for both Sarah and Erin. Blindsiding one of your closest allies/friends premerge seems uncalled for, but when it's you or them and you dont know what would happen next, I get it. I just hope there's no bad blood post season. It's a game, and they're both mature so I think they will understand that.
I think the MVP of this tribe is Anna Lynn. Nobody wants Anna Lynn out, plus she is overcoming the birthday curse. So Happy Birthday Anna Lynn. I'm worried about Sarah for next round. If they go to tribal council again, she's a goner for sure. Her only hope is, Rizo said some weird stuff at tribal council that kind of freaked Alicia out. He was talking about streaming Jenga (Alex's song) and apparently holding a king, and mentioned he didn't want to give a cookie cutter answer when answering the tribal question, and she thought that had something to do with the idol for some reason? Full disclosure, this has nothing to do with the idol/game. Rizo is just being Rizo. Do I think it's enough for her to target him? No. Alicia wouldn't go to rocks for Sarah. She would stick with Anna Lynn and Rizo the next round and maybe throw him under the bus after they swap possibly. Initially I thought I liked the Anna Lynn, Rizo, and Alicia trio, but I dont like it...at all. Could it be because Sarah is on the outs? Most likely yes, but I also think they're so comfortable, they dont care if they win or lose.
Sarah knows the word filter for the first idol clue. Hugo accidentally told her before he realized that's not allowed, and she's taking the high road of not putting it in unless she solves the nanogram herself. Girl...if you dont put that word filter in and at least try to find an advantage! I get wanting to be honest, but you already have the word filter, might as well take what you have and try to do the rest yourself. I guess on the plus side, she could potentially get a disadvantage. Still I think it's worth the risk if you know you're on the outs. What's the worst that could happen? She lose her vote and go out 3-0? There's still an extra vote advantage out there, and she could use that to try to pull in Alicia to vote out Rizo. The problem is, she wont ever know that Alicia is skeptical of Rizo now, so I guess it doesn't matter. *sigh*
Anyway...Good Game Erin! So glad that you got to play this season of All Out! Welcome to the family. I hope to see you give another one a go!
Next up we have Momerath 2.0. I have to give it up to this tribe. They came up with a maze that took 16 steps minimum to navigate. Their maze was legit hard, and I believe Lance might have come up with it? I wasn't listening in on their strategizing, but they talked about this challenge a lot, although they didn't practice. Gerda sat out of this challenge, and honestly I was a little bummed because I wanted to see her give this one a go! I think she would have been better at this one than she will be bouncing the pencil in a cup or something.
At the beginning of the round, I think Dayle was a goner. Her activity level decreased as she had real life stuff going on, meanwhile Lance pulled a Lance and showed his face and people fell in love. Idk how he does it, but he does it, and does it well. It's the ✨ personality ✨ for me. He wasn't around in the beginning of the swap, but he helped with the planning of the maze, and went to work after that. We saw a real turn around for King Lance, and again, he capitalizes with the time that he spends with people. He made his rounds and called people and really bonded with everyone. We all knew Lance was a charmer with a great personality. I think him being ranked low in the polls is due to inactivity, not him as a player. What's crazy is, they will continue to let him skate by, and if he was fully here and playing this game, he would surprise the hell out of them. I think they're sleep on him right now, and they better not sleep too much. Everybody might be coming to him for a vote thinking, "Oh Lance wasn't active when we were on a tribe with him. He wont connect with others. He will vote with me." He's one of those question marks that I always say you cant keep them in the game too long. Towards the end of the round, Dayle picked it up. I hope they win the next challenge because I genuinely like everybody on this tribe. Again, Malcolm is in the number 1 spot on this tribe, and he's making me even more happy that I picked him for my draft. I need to catch up on confessionals, but I was told Hugo wants Malcolm out lowkey 👀(He thinks Malcolm seems chaotic), so I'm curious to see how that plays out in the upcoming swap because I dont see either of them going anywhere. Carly, Hugo, Malcolm, and Gerda aka the Tapatalkers are sitting pretty right now. I see this tribe doing well in the next challenge, but they could possible go to tribal. I'll be interested to see who goes out of Dayle and Lance because it will be out of one of those two for sure. It may come down challenge performance.
Lastly we have the Liddell tribe. The MVP of this round and tribe definitely goes to Felix. He felt like he was on the bottom and immediately went to work, even before they competed in the challenge. He felt like people would want to vote Brenton due to him not participating in the posting challenge, and if Brenton left, he would be at the bottom and the next to go. Felix immediately consulted his number 1, Aleem, and decided that it made more sense to bring Brenton in to work with them rather than vote him out. Felix pitched using Aleem's idol on Brenton if they ended up going to tribal, but he wasn't aware that Aleem had no intentions to use the idol on Brenton or Felix if need be. Aleem had full intentions of keeping it for himself. Felix worked to figure out a plan that didn't require the idol in case Aleem didn't want to use it though. He planned on bringing in Brenton and telling him the things that Anders and Leanna were saying about Brenton being inactive during the posting challenge to separate Leanna from Brenton. Then he gave Brenton the push that he needed and let him know that he would have been the boot if they went to tribal and told Brenton to start putting in more work with people socially so that they didn't want to vote him. Brenton did exactly that and went to work this round. When you read this Brenton, just know that I am very proud of you. I know as an introvert who is trying something completely new and out of their comfort zone, this may not be the easiest thing for you to do; but I watched you connect with people. I watched you almost come to tears talking to people. I watched you set aside your differences with people's ways of living and still connect with them as people. You really came alive this round and allowed yourself to be vulnerable and personable with people. I know that's not easy in a game of lies and deceit, but you did and I loved witnessing it. Thank you Felix for giving him the push he needed. It's hard to know how much time/effort go into these things if you've never played one before. With that, the Brenton fan club is back alive and booming! LET'S GO BRENTON! Next, Felix went to Monte and really connected with him. They had such a great conversation things were looking so good for Felix and Aleem this round. They had the four they wanted and also had Leanna and Anders feeling good, so the choice would have been there's on who they wanted to take out. This tribe really came together for the challenge as well. They got on call, practiced for the challenge, and decided as a tribe which maze they were going to go with. The other tribes didn't put in nearly as much time as this tribe, but unfortunately none of that mattered because they didn't get to compete. Leanna had an emergency and was not able to compete that night. She was originally scheduled to sit out anyway, but was asked to step in for Monte as we received the sad news that he had to walk from the game. Monte had personal things going on with his family and saw it best to walk from the game. We definitely respect and empathize with his decision, and are so glad that he even got to play this game. Family always comes first. His All Out family will be here at the end of the day. This game will be here when it's all said and done. He will have a chance to connect with all of these people post season, so it's only right he take care of what's going on outside of this game first.
We have all expressed our empathy to Monte, but I'll say it here again. Thank you so much for playing Monte. Your personality is infectious. Your energy is everything. Your dedication and passion is contagious. We were lucky to have you this season, and would love to see you play more games in the future. Any Org would be lucky to have you. We lost two great players this round, Erin N and Monte. The game definitely will be different without you two. Thank you both for playing.
